Share Your Views on Binding Arbitration
Last week, an arbitrator granted city police officers and dispatchers a 30-33 percent salary raise. That decision will cost the city this year $5.8 million and will likely undo much of Measure Y, the Chamber-backed citizens’ initiative to raise money for needed infrastructure, road, and public safety improvements. The Chamber is considering action to abolish binding arbitration and return salary decisions to our elected City Council members.
