Local animal sanctuary Zoo to You has received national attention for the good work they do saving rare animals and entertaining and educating people about engendered species. Last month there was a disastrous fire at the Zoo to You facility that caused the deaths of many animals. Zoo to You co-director Anita Jackson (and a few animal friends) will be here to tell us how Zoo to You is coping with the tragedy. Like many non-hub regional airports, San Luis Obispo County Airport has been flying through some bumpy air lately. The essential commercial air service that many business people took for granted is threatened. New airport manager Richard Howell will tell us why he accepted this challenging job and explain why the airport needs business support to thrive.
The state passed a new disabilities act last year that was designed to make it less onerous and risky for business to comply with the state disability and access regulations. The bipartisan legislation was a compromise eventually supported by business, consumer attorneys, and disability rights activities. Local engineering and disabilities consultant Gary Rogers will explain the practical effect of the new law, and how you can keep your business out of trouble. A taste of “Les Mis”
PCPA Theaterfest’s current production of Les Miserables has won rave reviews from almost everyone. Cast members will be on hand to present two selections from this iconic musical.
